If you move goods in or out of Northern Ireland the Trader Support Service (TSS) can support you with the customs arrangements.
Changes to the Trader Support Service
The new Trader Support Service has launched. It can support you with the customs arrangements for goods moving to or from Northern Ireland.
If you’re already signed up for the outgoing Trader Support Service, you’ll be migrated to the new service and will not need to register again.
If you’re not already signed up, you can register to declare goods that you’re moving to or from Northern Ireland.
From 20 October 2026, all new movements must be submitted using the new service.

The Trader Support Service is free to use and gives you access to:
- an online system for making customs and safety and security declarations for movements between Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales) and Northern Ireland
- guidance on how to use the service, including regular webinars and email bulletins
- a digital assistant and contact centre support agents to help with your declarations
You can use this service if you are making a declaration yourself, or on behalf of someone else, or as a business involved in the physical movement of goods (for example if you are a haulier).
HMRC has chosen the Trader Support Service to provide this service.
