England captain Harry Kane has been rewarded for his Ballon d’Or win with a new, improved contract that keeps him at Bayern Munich until 2029.
Kane’s €25m (£21m) per year deal maintains his status as the highest paid player in Germany’s Bundesliga and among a handful of elite earners in European football.
It comes after the prolific 33-year-old striker last week became the first Englishman to be awarded the Ballon d’Or for the world’s best player in 25 years.
Kane’s new contract is not reported to include an increase in basic salary but does come with an improved bonus structure that could boost his pay to as much as €33m (£27m).
Since joining from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023, he has scored 156 goals in 161 games and won five trophies, including two Bundesliga titles.

How Kane’s pay compares to top earning footballers
Kane’s level of remuneration is matched only by Real Madrid stars Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr and Manchester City forward Erling Haaland.
Bayern are among Europe’s top five richest clubs and were last month valued at more than £3bn when selling a minority stake.
“What began as a major transfer has, over time, become a special chapter in FC Bayern’s history,” said club president Herbert Hainer.
“Harry Kane lives up to every promise football has to offer and he has secured his place in the hearts of the fans as one of the greatest figures in the sport of our time. This is a special moment for FC Bayern today.”
Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund added: “We’re absolutely delighted because with Harry Kane we have the Ballon d’Or winner on the pitch – a team player, a leader, the best all-round striker in the world.
“We all benefit from his qualities as a player and as a person, day in, day out. FC Bayern thrives on players who never stop giving their all, even when they have already achieved the greatest of goals.”
